Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara is the Cluster University established by Government of Maharashtra on 27th October, 2021 as per the recommendation of RUSA, MHRD, NewDelhi 15th Meeting of The Project Approval Board 24th January 2019 and exercising of the powersconferred by sub-section (6) of section 3 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 (Mah. VI of 2017). The Government of Maharashtra has issued Notification of Establishment of this Cluster University on 27th October, 2021 for setting up a “Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara” as a cluster comprising of Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara (YCIS) as the lead college and Chhatrapati Shivaji College, Satara (CS),andDhananjayrao Gadgil College of Commerce, Satara (DG)
as comprising constituent colleges. Earlier the constituent colleges are run by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha,Satara and were affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara as lead college of this university and Chhatrapati Shivaji College, Satara and DhananjayraoGadgil College of Commerce, Satara as the constituent colleges.

Constituent Colleges :
Nestled in the hills of Sahyadri, is the historic and scenic city Satara, the location of Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science. The institute is the member of family Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, a renowned educational trust, founded by Late Padmbhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. Established in June 1958 as a Science wing of Chh. Shivaji College Satara, it was later established as a single faculty ‘Science College’ in June 1965. The science college was christened in 1986 as Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science in the honour of Late Shri. Yashavantrao Balawantrao Chavan, former Deputy Prime Minister of India and former President of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science is reputed government aided science institute affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur with university affiliation No.UKF/565/U/5 and Junior College Index No. is 21.10.003. The cumulative result of consistant achievements in academic, extracurricular and social performance of the institute resulted in receiving accreditation at A level and reaccreditation at A level with higher grade points of 3.37 by NAAC, Banglore. The Institute is selected as ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ by UGC, New Delhi and for FIST ( FUNDS for IMPROVEMENT IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ) by DST New Delhi. The institute is honoured as STAR college by DBT, New Delhi.

Ours is premiere and reputed single-faculty (Autonomous) Commerce College in the jurisdiction of Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. It was established in the year 1971 at a historically acclaimed place called Satara. Presently college offers 6 under graduates and 3 post graduates programmes along with a wide range of Career Oriented Courses and Professional programmes. Students are benefitted with the large number of support services and inter-disciplinary activities. The College is re-accredited (in 3rd Cycle) with ‘A+’ grade by NAAC and enjoys ISO-9001-2015 recertification. The College has attained UGC-CPE and PARAMARSH status. Chhatrapati Shivaji College, Satara is the first college of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha established in 1947 by Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. It is affiliated to Shivaji University and accredited with ‘B’ Grade by NAAC. This college is named after Chhatrapati Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. It provides a variety of stimulating environments for intellectual development , free thinking , and personal growth , challenging its students with dynamic learning opportunities and equipping them with the skills , insights , attitudes and practical experiences that are necessary to take up responsibilities in the society.
